Luke 2:10-11

"But the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.'"

Luke 2:10-11 (NASB)

Jesus' birth was announced by the angel as bringing "great joy" to all the people. Great joy in knowing when we die, we're immediately present with the Lord. (2 Corinthians 5:8, "We are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.") Great joy in knowing we can no longer disappoint God. (Jude 1:24, "Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy.") Great joy in knowing God will comfort us in all of life's difficulties. (2 Corinthians 1:3, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort.") Great joy in knowing there is never a true crisis for any believer. (Romans 8:28, "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.") Great joy in knowing God works through all our "bad" circumstances for our good. (Genesis 50:20, "As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive.") Great joy!
